Terms of Use

Effective from 1 November 2026

These terms are an agreement between you and LibraryLog, run by its founder, Himanshu, from Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, India ("LibraryLog", "we", "us"). They apply to librarylog.in, the library pages on it, and the LibraryLog apps (together, the "Service"). By using the Service you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

What LibraryLog is

For students: a directory of self-study libraries, with their fees, timings, seats, facilities and directions, and (in the app) tools to join a library, pause your membership and track your study.
For library owners: a free tool to list a library and manage students, seats, shifts, fees, staff and reminders, with a public page at librarylog.in/your-library.

LibraryLog is a listing and software platform. We do not own or run any library. The agreement for a seat, and any fee, is between the student and the library.

Accounts

You sign in with your mobile number and a one-time password, or with Google. Keep access to your phone and Google account secure; you are responsible for what happens under your account.
Give accurate details, and keep them up to date.
You must be 18 or older, or have a parent's or guardian's permission and supervision if you are younger.
One person, one account. Do not sign in as someone else.

Fees and payments

LibraryLog is free to use today. If we introduce paid features, we will tell you the price before you are charged, and nothing will be charged without your agreement.
Library fees are paid directly to the library, by cash, UPI or any way the library accepts. LibraryLog does not collect, hold or refund library fees, and is not responsible for payment disputes between students and libraries. Receipts created in LibraryLog are records kept by the library.

Information on library pages

Library details (fees, seats, timings, facilities, photos and descriptions) are provided by the library owner. We try to keep listings accurate, but we do not guarantee them. Please confirm fees, availability and rules with the library before you pay.
"Visited by LibraryLog" means someone from LibraryLog visited the library on the date shown. It is not a certificate of safety, licensing or quality, and it may not reflect later changes.
Google ratings are copied by our team from the library's Google listing on the date shown, with a link to the source. They are Google users' opinions, not ours, and may have changed since.
Seat availability is updated by the library and may not be current.

Safety

Each library is responsible for its premises, including fire safety, electrical safety, emergency exits, hygiene and all licences and approvals the law requires. LibraryLog does not inspect libraries for safety compliance and is not responsible for any injury, loss or damage at a library. If you notice a safety concern at a listed library, please tell us at marked-puns.4f@icloud.com; we may delist a library that does not address it.

Rules for library owners

If you list or manage a library, you agree that:

you are the owner, or are authorised by the owner, and the information you publish is true and kept up to date;
your library complies with all applicable laws, including safety, building, fire, labour and tax rules, and holds the licences it needs;
you have your students' permission before adding their details, use their data only to run your library, and keep it accurate (see our Privacy Policy);
reminders and messages you send to students through WhatsApp or SMS are lawful, relevant and sent with their permission;
you will honour the fees and terms you publish, and treat students fairly and without discrimination;
you will not post anything false, misleading, offensive or that infringes someone else's rights, including photos you don't have the right to use.

We review listings before they go public and may refuse, hide, edit for accuracy, or remove any listing at our discretion, for example if it breaks these terms, receives repeated genuine complaints, or raises safety concerns.

Rules for everyone

Do not:

break the law, or use the Service to harass, threaten, defraud or impersonate anyone;
post false reviews, spam, or misleading information;
copy, scrape or resell listings or user data, or use bots to access the Service;
try to access accounts or data that are not yours, interfere with the Service's security, or overload it;
reverse-engineer the Service except as the law allows.

Our content and yours

The LibraryLog name, logo, design and software belong to us. You may share links to library pages freely.
You keep ownership of the content you add (library details, photos, text). You give LibraryLog a free, non-exclusive licence to host, display and share it in order to run and promote the Service, including on the library's public page and in search engines. This licence ends when you remove the content, except for copies kept for a limited time in backups or as the law requires.

Availability and changes

We work to keep LibraryLog running, but it is provided "as is" and "as available". It may be interrupted for maintenance, updates or reasons outside our control. We may add, change or remove features, and we will give notice of important changes where we reasonably can.

Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows:

LibraryLog is not liable for the acts, omissions, premises, services or fees of any library, or for any dispute between a student and a library;
LibraryLog is not liable for indirect or consequential losses, such as lost study time, exam results, profits or data;
our total liability to you for any claim about the Service is limited to ₹1,000 or the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, whichever is higher.

Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under Indian law.

Indemnity

If you are a library owner and a claim is made against LibraryLog because of your library, your listing, your treatment of students or your use of their data, you agree to cover the reasonable costs and losses LibraryLog incurs as a result.

Ending your use

You can stop using the Service and ask us to delete your account at any time by writing to marked-puns.4f@icloud.com. We may suspend or close an account, or remove a listing, if it breaks these terms or the law, or to protect other users. Sections that by their nature should continue (such as fees, liability, indemnity and governing law) continue after your account ends.

Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of India. Please contact us first so we can try to resolve any problem. Any dispute that cannot be resolved will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts at Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. We will change the date at the top and, for important changes, tell you in the app or on the website before they take effect. If you keep using the Service after changes take effect, you accept the updated terms.
